‘DISASSEMBLY’. From the ‘GERMANS HAVE ARRIVED’ cycle on Young Art in extreme conditions Reviev

The only reason the Spire in Wrocław was built in 1946 was to dominate visually the monumental Centennial Hall (then People’s Hall). It was a task given to the organisers of the Regained Territories Exhibition by a state dignitary who, upon a visit to the venue, was angry to notice that ‘this German pot’ would be the biggest building of the exhibition. And the point was to prove the ancient Polishness of this land.
