Debate on environmentalism, cultural activism and resistance, the potential impact of art on the environment, the possible scenarios of action and agency, and the dangers and obstacles that can lead such movements astray.
Rosario Talevi is a Berlin-based architect interested in critical spatial practice (Jane Rendell), transformative pedagogies and feminist futures, which she explores through various spatial, editorial and curatorial formats. Her work advances architecture as a form of agency – in its transformative sense and in its capacity of acting otherwise (Schneider) and as a form of care – one that provides the political stakes to repair our broken world (Tronto). Currently, she works as research curator at the Berlin University of the Arts on the practice-based research project Making Futures Bauhaus+. She is a member of the executive board of the Floating University Berlin, curatorial board for Make City Festival and a founding member of s-o-f-t.agency.

Balša Lubarda is an environmental sociologist specialising in environmental communication, radicalism, right-wing politics and political ideologies. He is also a Doctoral Fellow and the Head of Ideology Research Unit at the Centre for Analysis of the Radical Right, as well as a member of the Emancipatory Rural Politics Initiative (European branch). His research has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as Environmental Values, Sociologia Ruralis and other non-academic outlets, including New Eastern Europe, Fair Observer, Open Democracy, Undisciplined Environments, Altre Economia etc.
Edith Jeřábková is a curator, art theorist and writer, one of the funding members of the Institute of Anxiety, which creates space for examining anxiety that spreads across society, taking the form of sleeplessness, stress, estrangement, loss of empathy, inequality and violence. She is also part of WOODS. Community for Cultivation, Theory and Art. WOODS was established in 2018 as a part of Institute of Anxiety’s programme. It comes to life on a 1.8 ha forest lot near the village of Hnátnice in the Orlické Mountains, which was bought for community purposes by the organization Are, to which Jeřábková belongs. WOODS disrupts the dualism of theory and practice, city and country, state and planet, humans and nature. It reacts to climate change and the related, accelerating processes of degradation in the agricultural and forest landscapes and the soil, increasing drought and the extinction of small animals. It moves across the boundaries between art, science, activism, work and rest. Jeřábková was awarded Igor Zabel Award Grant for her outstanding contribution to the artistic life in the Czech Republic.

Monika Sadkowska is a campaign spokeswoman for Polish Energy team of ClientEarth Environmental Lawyers. She worked with the RT-ON Foundation (Fundacja Rozwój TAK – Odkrywki NIE). She co-organised the first Climate Camp in Poland and is one of the creators of the Climate Choir. An activist and culture theorist, actor, singer, producer of cultural events for the Theatre Institute in Warsaw and Polin Museum. She is a graduate of Cultural Studies at the Institute of Polish Culture at the University of Wrocław and a graduate of Warsaw School of Economics in Art Management.

Dr Malgorzata Misniakiewicz is an independent curator and art historian focusing on contemporary art and the neo-avant-garde. Her recent projects concern the themes of nationalism and far right politics; ecology of art and its discontents; counter-cultural networks; and art and feminism in central-eastern European art. She holds a PhD from the Courtauld Institute of Art where she defended her thesis on the networked art in Poland during the long 70s. Currently she cooperates with Art Transparent Foundation and Motel Spatie. She worked as a collections’ curator at Wrocław Contemporary Museum. She is an author, editor and researcher, graduate of Warsaw School of Economics in Art Managemen
