IGNAZ SCHICK / 10:30 p.m.
In his youth Ignaz Schick studied the saxophone and performed in free-jazz and avant-rock bands. At the same time he was getting obsessed with multitrack tape machines, record players and effect boxes and he started experimenting with many different instruments and sound-making devices. After college he briefly studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and worked for several years as an assistant for the contemporary composer Josef Anton Riedl. Since the late 1995 he has worked and lived in Berlin where he became an active and integral force of the so-called ‘Berlin Nouvelle Vague’ and the blossoming ‘real time music’ scene. From the middle of the nineties onwards his interest and activities have almost completely shifted towards live-electronics and after testing various instrumentations (hard- & software samplers, signal processing, contact mics, field recordings, ...) he developed his own and quite unique electro-acoustic set-up which he calls ‘rotating surfaces’. Various objects and materials (wood, metal, plastic, paper) are played directly on the rotating metal plate of the turntable and the vibrations are simply amplified with a small condensator microphone. With this set-up he covers many different styles of contemporary experimental music – ranging from extreme reductionism via ambient, industrial, musique concrete, electronica to harsh noise. He has cooperated with artists like Chris Abrahams (AUS), Alexei Borisov (RUS), Sebastian Buczek (PL), Phil Durrant (GB), Gunnar Geisse (D), GX Jupitter-Larsen/The Haters (USA), Dawid Szczęsny (PL), Martin Tetreault (CAN), Marcel Tuerkowsky (D) or Sabine Vogel (D), Don Cherry & Charlemagne Palestine. He has toured and performed in clubs and festivals all over Europe, the USA, Russia and the Balkans. He has released many albums on labels like Zarek, Edition Zangi, edition x, Irrah, Potlatch, Bad Alchemy, Charhizma, Staalplaat, Nexsound, Non Visual Objects, Improvised Music From Japan or Absinth.

PRZEMYSŁAW ETAMSKI / 11:20 p.m.
He comes from Szczecin. He is a young music producer, sound designer, co-founder of the BA! project and, together with the Rychlicki brothers (Kristen), he performs in the avant-garde trio Salto. He made his debut in 2008 with an album ‘Zabrudzony Garnitur’. In 2010 he released his EP ‘Kosmos’ on the Internet. His music oscillates around experimental electronics, sampling, musique concrete and free jazz; however, he is deeply rooted in underground hip-hop. It is a dense surrealist sound collage, permeated with absurd humour, inspired by anarchism and futurism. Etamski is currently working on new material, which will be released in the autumn by a merger of two labels – Lado ABC and Qulturtrap.

KASPER TOEPLITZ / 11:00 p.m.
Composer, electric bass player and musician who has developed his work in the no man's land between ‘academic’ composition (orchestra, ensembles, opera) and electronic ‘new music’ or ‘noise music’. PAUL WHITE / 12:00 p.m.
A British artist, closely connected with American hip-hop culture, who revives academic electronic music or IDM with classic funk. Added to this are a British sense of humour and a healthy distance to the origins, which include jazz, psychedelic rock, shabby pop from the old days, reggae and dub. His three albums released so far on well-established labels One-Handed Music and Now-Again (sublabel of Stones Throw) confirm his exceptional talents as a music producer and his unlimited imagination, which blend seemingly distant inspirations into a hypnotic, rhythmic, swinging whole. His podcast for Stones Throw was downloaded 200,000 times in the first month while his productions are played regularly by artists like Gilles Peterson, Mary-Ann Hobbs or Diplo.

TRYP / 12:00 p.m.
TRYP is a peculiar antithesis of a supergroup. It consists of musicians with experience in well-known bands: Kuba Wandachowicz (CKOD), Marcin Pryt (19 Wiosen), Robert Tuta (Agressiva 69) and Paweł CIeślak (Radiev); however, their joint project is nothing but accessible music. They dedicated their EP ‘Wędrówka Ludów’ to the first futurists in the hundredth anniversary of their Manifesto (2009). Their first album ‘Kochanówka’, which was released at the end of 2010, is inspired by a Psychiatric Clinic in Łódź, known as Kochanówka. The band’s music is an apocalyptic hybrid of new-wave industrial inspirations from the ’80s with electro-clash chic. It is thick, dense and non-compromising. Marcin Pryt’s lyrics, who is a poet and one of the most important song writers in Poland nowadays, deal with annihilation, an all-encompassing axiological crisis. They leave no illusions – a feeling that we are before a firing squad accompanies each emotion in this album.
